Each year, Killeen ISD families play an important role in securing federal funds that directly support our students and schools. These funds come through the federal Impact Aid program, which provides critical resources to districts like ours with federally-connected students.
In recent years, the number of federally-connected students in KISD has declined. District leaders expect this change to result in a loss of up to $31 million in Impact Aid funds over the next four years. After “hold harmless” payments are exhausted, the district could lose as much as $50 million annually.
Even with this reduction, KISD still receives Impact Aid dollars — and every form matters. Completing the annual Impact Aid Parent-Pupil Survey ensures an accurate count and directly impacts the level of funding KISD receives.
A paper copy of the survey goes home with your student today, Monday, September 29, 2025. Please review, sign, and return it as soon as possible. By completing the form, families help ensure that KISD secures every dollar available to support teachers, classrooms, and student programs.
Additionally, if you are federally-connected OR a civilian working on Fort Hood or another federal property (like the VA in Temple), your participation counts!
If you have questions or need assistance with the survey, please contact us at: impactaid@killeenisd.org.
Thank you for partnering with Killeen ISD in this important process. Together, we can make sure our schools receive the funding our students deserve.
